FAQs
Purpose: This policy outlines the guidelines for prescribing stimulant medications via telehealth to ensure safe, ethical, and effective treatment for patients diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
Eligibility for Stimulant Prescription:
Patients must have a formal ADHD diagnosis based on comprehensive clinical evaluation, including validated assessment tools and history.
Diagnostic confirmation must be documented in the patient’s medical record.
A telehealth evaluation must be conducted before initiating stimulant therapy.
Medication Management Requirements:
Monthly Follow-Ups: Patients must complete a virtual follow-up appointment every month to assess medication efficacy, side effects, and adherence before refills are issued.
Random Urine Drug Screening: Patients are required to undergo random urine drug testing to ensure compliance and monitor for potential misuse or diversion.
Controlled Substance Agreement:
Patients prescribed stimulant medications must sign a controlled substance agreement outlining responsibilities, potential risks, and compliance with treatment guidelines.
Urine Drug Screens (UDS) – Patients on controlled medications must complete random drug screenings at least twice a year within 24 hours of request. Non-compliance will result in discontinuation. Our goal is effective treatment with minimal risks.
State and Federal Compliance: All prescriptions must adhere to state and federal regulations, including electronic prescribing requirements and Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) checks.
- 24-hour notice required for cancellations or reschedules.
- Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged: $100
- Repeated missed appointments may result in the provider discontinuing treatment and formally discharging the patient from care.
- Prescriptions include sufficient refills until your next visit.
- Schedule follow-ups ahead of time to avoid running out.
- We do not accept automatic pharmacy refill requests.
- New medications and dose adjustments will not be made over the phone.
- No refills if you don’t have an upcoming appointment.
Provider Discretion:
The prescribing provider reserves the right to adjust, discontinue, or refuse stimulant prescriptions if there are concerns regarding misuse, side effects, or non-compliance with the outlined policy.
This policy is subject to periodic review and updates based on new clinical guidelines and regulatory changes.
Our provider does not complete disability paperwork if another healthcare professional has already authorized your work leave. Additionally, the provider reserves the right to decline the completion of any work-related documentation.
Messages are checked regularly, and we aim to respond within two business days. - For emergencies, call 911 or visit the nearest ER.
